OUR AREA
Our area is situated in Sindh Province of Pakistan. It is spread between the two Districts of Sindh Province, i.e. Nosharo Feroze & Dadu. Our land i.e Katie Kalhora is spread almost on 15000 Acres. As it is spread along with the river i.e. Darya-e-Sindh, so that's why it is called Katcha Area. The temperature in our area is hot in summer and cold in winter. Main rainy months are July and August. Flood in Indus River comes mostly in the month of August and brings almost 500000 Cusec water in river.  Water level almost 700000 Cusec covers 80% of our land comes under water.

PEOPLE AND CROPS
There are many villages situated in our Katcha Area, & most of the population is of Kalhoras (ABBASI), i.e. our cast. Our people are very strong, hardworking & very much fond of hunting. Among the villages Jare Jo Goth, is the biggest village which belongs to Kalhoras. In Katcha there are people of various casts such as  Chandios, Malah, Machi & Mehgals etc. Villagers mostly speak Sindhi while Chandios speak Seriaki along with Sindhi. Proper water system is never made by Government in all Katcha Areas of Sindh. We are in touch with Darya-e-Sindh & are facing water problem for our crops since very beginning. Due to the lack of electricity we use diesel oil engines for taking out water from earth. We bore about 30 to 45 feet to pump out water which is being used for the cultivation of our land. Wheat, Sugar Cane & Cotton are the main crops cultivated in our area. The temperature in our area is severe hot in summer & moderate cold in winter.

HUNTING AND ANIMALS
Hunting Season starts from November to March in our area. The villagers especially Machies are very much fond of hunting. The villagers come from far of their villages in order to see hunting adventure. We really enjoy each & every aspect of hunting. Wild Boar, Stag, Hares, Fox, Jackal, & Wild Cats are the animals of our area. There are many kinds of birds including Partridges, Indian Bustard, Sand Grouse and Water Ducks. Due to the flood many changes occur which effects animal life in our area. Sometime it gives us profit & sometimes loss. We take care of our animals by hunting them in a proper way. Villagers have large number of cows, goats, camelsdonkeys.

HARE HUNTING
Hare Hunting is also very common in our area. Almost every year we hunt 10-20 hares. We had hunted hares mostly at night by the help of Search light. As compared to day light Hares are easily hunted at night through Search Light. Villagers hunt them by net.  Picture on right is of  Jackrabbit having enlarged ears while picture on  left is Cottontail. Sometimes we encounter Hares while hunting Partridges and Stags.
